Jim Rusk Fishing FAQ

HOW DO WE GET THERE?  You will fly into Anchorage Airport then you may either take a 30 minute commuter flight to the Kenai Airport (approx. 150 RT) and rent a car  OR you may chose to rent a car in Anchorage and enjoy the beautiful 2 1/2 hour drive to the Kenai Peninsula.  We recommend the latter as you will need a car for your stay and the drive is not to be missed.

WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHING SHOULD I BRING?
We recommend that you come prepared for anytype of weather.  I am a big fan of many layers.  We have plenty of storage on the boat so bundle up and remove layers as the day warms up.  Rain gear is always recommended.  Rubber boots are not a necessity unless you plan on fishing the banks in the evening.

DO I NEED A FISHING LISCENSE?
YES!  You will need to show a valid Alaska Fishing Liscense with a King Stamp (if fishing Kings).  You may purchase these at any tackle store or convenience store in town.  I will not quote a price as it changes but it will  be under 100.00 for a 7 day liscense.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH OUR FISH?
I will clean and fillet your Salmon for you (saves $ at the processor) and refer you to a fish processor that for a fee will vacuum seal, freeze and store your fish until you are ready to leave.  You will pick up your fish boxed and ready to take home on the plane or you can Fed-Ex it.  Your Halibut will be dropped of  Whole.
