Hello Alaska anglers, well we are right on the verge of spring here in Alaska on the Kenai and summer fishing season will be here very soon. Are you planning a fishing trip to the mighty Kenai River here in Alaska this summer, well if you answered yes then now is the time to get those plans and dates locked down. Do not put it off any longer get your trip booked now, everything gets harder and more expensive the longer you wait! Jim Rusk Fishing will be entering our 40th year in business guiding anglers on the Kenai River this summer in 2026 so that is very exciting. The Alaska department of fish and game is predicting another large run of Sockeye Salmon this summer and hopefully the Silver Salmon run will also be a good one. We still have some great dates open for Sockeye Salmon and Silver Salmon fishing this summer on the Kenai river here in Alaska. With a lower than average snow pack this winter in the Kenai mountains I would guess we will have fairly low water levels on the Kenai River this summer which always makes for great fishing conditions. So with all that being said the 2026 Kenai River fishing season here in Alaska is shaping up to be a great year to celebrate my 40th season guiding anglers here in Alaska. Did you fish with Jim Rusk Fishing in 2025, were you able to stock your freezer with some wonderful fresh Alaska Sockeye Salmon or Silver Salmon, I Sure hope so it is such a wonderful blessing to have some great Salmon in the freezer. At the Rusk house I try to eat Salmon at least once or twice a week, it is so good and so good for you. If you didn’t get to put some fresh Kenai River Alaska Salmon in the freezer last summer feel I hope that you can change that in 2026. You’re not to late to still plan an awesome Alaska fishing trip on the Kenai River for the 2026 fishing season with me here at Jim Rusk Fishing. Besides the amazing Sockeye Salmon Fishing and the Silver Salmon fishing we will also be getting Anglers out fishing for trophy Trout fishing, Rainbow Trout, Dolly varden and Arctic Char on the Kenai River. And in the spring I will again be guiding anglers on the Kenai National wildlife refuge for Lake Trout which if you’ve never done it is a super fun and scenic trip. And of course if you want to get out on the Ocean for an amazing day in the Saltwater going after Halibut and other Ocean species as well as Salmon we can always help you booking those trips as well.
