Hello Kenai River Anglers. Well winter is here on the Kenai in Alaska, the boats are all covered and put away for the long Alaska winter. I just wanted to give a quick recap of the 2025 fishing season here in Alaska on the Kenai. So looking back at the 2025 fishing season I would say it was a pretty good season overall. Although we did not have a King Salmon season on the Kenai this summer we are all very encouraged that we have turned a corner. 2025 showed a very significant increase in the number of King Salmon entering the Kenai River compared to the last few years so fingers crossed I think we are headed in the right direction. Next let’s talk Sockeye Salmon, wow what a run the Sockeye showed up early and just kept coming for what seemed like forever it was just crazy. I think the final totals number of Sockeye that entered the Kenai was over 4 million which is just an insane number! And finally the we have the Silver Salmon run. So I would say it was a decent year for Silver Salmon but not a banner year on the Kenai River. the Silvers were big which is always fun. August Silver Salmon fishing was pretty good with limit catches most days on the Kenai and even the first part of September was not bad, but unfortunately September overall was not that great, So over all it was an okay run of Silver Salmon. So that’s the fishing report for Salmon fishing during the 2025 fishing season here on the Kenai River in Alaska, overall I think a pretty decent season and hopes are high for a great season of Salmon fishing on the Kenai River in 2026.
