Hello Kenai River Anglers, Well it’s mid October here on the Kenai in Alaska and sadly the 2025 fishing season is pretty much over for the year. I have not winterized my boat yet ill probably do one more fun trip on the Kenai River to target Silver Salmon but local weather is calling for cold temps and possible snow next week so I think sadly its time to take the gear out of the boat and put her away for the winter. Well 2025 was our 39th season here at Jim Rusk Fishing and I’ve been debating how many more years I want to be a fishing guide here in Alaska it has been a great run but 39 years is a long time! Anyway after a pretty great summer I’ve decided I’m just not ready to throw in the towel yet. So I’m happy to announce that lord willing Jim Rusk Fishing will be operating and celebrating our 40th season guiding anglers on the Kenai River in Alaska for the 2026 fishing season. The 2027 season well i would say maybe for next summer it will be game on. I want to thank everyone who fished with me in 2025 and all the people who have fished with Jim Rusk Fishing over all these years it has been my honor to get Anglers out fishing from all over the country and the world on the incredible Kenai River and other local waters here in Alaska. Im not saying I won’t be fishing in 2027 but I’m not saying I will be fishing either so if you want to get out fishing with again or you’ve wanted to but have not yet I highly recommend you lock down some dates for 2026! Okay well that’s all I have for today, give me a call lock down some dates for 2026 and lets go fishing on the mighty Kenai River in Alaska next summer!
