Hello Kenai River Anglers Well it’s almost November here in  Alaska on the Kenai and sadly the boat is winterized and put away for the the long Alaska winter. We don’t have snow on the ground yet but it is feeling like we could get a dump any day now. Im Sure there are still some hard core Rainbow Trout Anglers that out on the the middle and upper Kenai River, and in my youth I would have been one of them! Just to recap the fishing season it was a pretty darn good fishing season here on the Kenai. We had record setting numbers of Sockeye Salmon this year on the Kenai River it was just incredible fishing for a very long. Also after a poor return of Silver Salmon in 2024 it was nice to see a decent run of Silver Salmon on the Kenai River this fall, August was good fishing and September was decent. Also what is very encouraging is the Kenai River King Salmon numbers greatly improved this Summer which gives me great hope for the future of King Salmon fishing on the Kenai.
