Hi everyone well it is a new year and we are in the jaws of winter here on the Kenai Peninsula. The Kenai River and the Kasilof River are frozen tight as we have been in a very impressive cold snap for over a month. However the days are getting longer everyday and before we know it spring will be in the air! How wonderful it will be to once again be on the mighty Kenai River and the mighty Kasilof River chasing first run King Salmon around and loving life on the waters of the Kenai Peninsula. So are you planning a fishing trip to the Kenai this summer if so have you reserved your dates, well it is that time of year. Bookings are strong this year and the prime dates are filling up fast, so don’t procrastinate pick up the phone and call me get those dates locked in and lets go fishing. King Salmon may, June or July, Silver Salmon August, September, and October, Rainbow Trout June 16 thru October with peak fishing in the fall, Sockeye Salmon June, July and half of August. Pink Salmon August. May and June we spend lots of days in the Drift boat on the Kasilof River. In July we are mostly on the Kenai River in the power boat, in August we fish the Kenai most days but also do fish the Kasilof in the drift boat, also in September we fish both Rivers up till the 15th then after the 15th thru the end of the season we fish the Kenai river.
