Hi everyone well fishing season has begun here in Alaska on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers and life is good! The Saltwater fisheries in Homer and Ninilchik are now in full swing and I have been getting great reports of limit catches of both King Salmon and Halibut. In river fishing is just getting started but I expect that they’re are King Salmon in the Kenai River and the Kasilof River and that fishing in the Rivers for King Salmon should begin to produce any day. The Kasi;of River has been fishing very well for steelhead Trout and in the Kenai we have been seeing good numbers of sea run Dolly Varden. Also the Kenai River is getting its annual run of hooligan and many folks have been out harvesting them. As always in the spring the water levels on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River are very low so boaters will need to be cautious to avoid propeller damage. Spring time here on the Kenai is a wonderful time to view wildlife as well as get out catch some fresh Salmon, Moose are calving this time of year so this means you have a great chance of seeing new born calves, also many birders come to the Kenai this time of year for viewing a large variety of birds both on land and in the sea. So that is the fishing report here on the Kenai things are happening spring is in the air the Salmon are showing up, the wildlife are out and spring is in the air. So give us a call and lets get out and fish the Kenai River or the Kasiof River this spring on the Kenai Peninsula here in Alaska for King Salmon or Rainbow Trout.
