Hi everyone 2019 fishing season is just around the corner here on the Kenai River and Kasilof river here in Alaska Ya! I wanted to have a brief discussion on packing for your dream trip to Alaska to chase Salmon and Trout around. So Let me just start by saying that Alaska can be very cold even in the summer and will feel extremely cold especially if you are coming from somewhere where temperatures are generally upwards of 75 degrees. However with a little planning you can ensure that you will be warm and dry while fishing on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers in Alaska. The first thing I tell people is do not show up with out a good set of rain gear nothing will ruin your Trophy King Salmon trip on the Kenai River than a rainy day and no rain gear, if you get wet  you will be cold period. Next make sure you dress in layers, long underwear pants, hoody, warm coat, also a warm hat and gloves can be very nice also. If you dress properly and bring the proper gear mother nature will not ruin your Salmon or Trout trip here on the Kenai River or the Kasilof River here in Alaska this Summer. All the boats have ample dry storage so wear plenty of layers and as the day warms you can always take it off. So whether you are fishing for spring King Salmon on the Kasilof River or late fall fishing for Trophy Rainbow Trout on the Kenai River, or even mid season fishing for King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon on the Kenai River or the Kaslof River if you follow these guidelines and dress for success you will have a great time fishing here on the Kenai in Alaska this summer.
