Hi everyone well it is just a few days away from Christmas and I hope that everyone has plans to be with friends and family. Here on the Kenai we have had lots of fresh snow and it is a wonderful winter wonderland out there. The Kenai River is not frozen over and I’m sure there are still a few hardcore Trout fisherman out there braving the elements, although the majority of local fisherman have shifted to fishing on the ice of one of our many lakes in the area which provide lots opportunity to catch Rainbow Trout, and Dolly Varden as well as Lake Trout and Kokanee.  So I’m already getting excited for the 2021 fishing season and can’t wait to be back on the Kenai River as well as the Kasilof River chasing King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, and Trophy Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden. We still have lots of great dates open to fish with us on the Kenai River and Kasilof River in 2021 and it is not to late to surprise that special angler in your life with a fishing trip to Alaska to fish with us here at Jim Rusk Fishing. I have a gut feeling that 2021 is going to be a great year to fish on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers and can’t wait to get out there. 2021 will by 34th consecutive year here on the Kenai guiding fisherman for Salmon and Trout, I am proud of the service we have provided over the many years and have always put my clients and their fishing expierince above all, I put my heart and soul in to each and every trip and will continue to do so in the future.
