Hello Kenai River Anglers, well it is almost mid September and the 2026 Kenai River fishing season has flown by, however it is not over yet. I am very happy to report that we have had a great run of Silver Salmon this year on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers and I am hopeful that the good fishing for Silver Salmon will continue well into the month of October this year! So if you want to get on the Kenai for some great late fall Silver Salmon fishing, you still have a chance to put some nice fat Silvers in the freezer for winter. September and even October fishing trips on the Kenai are super nice, the summer crowds have dwindled the Silvers are big and the fall colors are spectacular!

Overall it was a pretty great fishing season this year in Alaska on the Kenai, it had its ups and and down but overall a pretty decent year. We were a little wet in July and had to deal with some high water for a few weeks, the weather this summer has mostly been great and August and so far September has been very nice. The water conditions are fantastic right now and really pretty darn good all summer except for a few weeks in July. With the great water conditions on the Kenai River the Rainbow Trout fisherman have also been doing very well, and that fishing should continue to be good for a while yet.
