Fishing Season Update . Jim Rusk Fishing Guide – Kenai River

Hi everyone greetings from Jim Rusk Fishing, I just wanted to give everyone a quick season update. First of all I am happy to report we saw a wonderful increase in King Salmon returns this season in both the first and second runs and on both rivers the Kenai and the Kasilof. We are not out of the woods yet but it looks like responsible management is starting to pay off.

I am very optimistic for the future of King Salmon here on the Kenai. King season ended at midnight on July 31st and now we are on to Silver Salmon and Rainbow Trout season and I can’t wai. I love august and september here on the Kenai.

I will be getting all the gear switched out today and can’t wait to get started. Sockeye Salmon are also still running and I’m sure I will be doing some fishing for those as well the next few weeks. I still have lots of good open dates for August and September, especially the next couple weeks and the fishing should be awesome so give me a call and lets put something together.
