Hello from the Kenai everyone, the ice broke free yesterday on the Kenai River and the water if flowing nicely. I would guess that the Kasilof River ice has also broken. So that is a sure sign that spring has hit here on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. Time has come to start getting things organized and ready for another season of fishing for King Salmon, Silver Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, and Rainbow Trout here on the Kenai. Time to pull out all my favorite King Salmon and Silver Salmon lures and get them washed and shined up as well as new razor sharp hooks were needed, then organized by color and size and ready to go fishing. King Salmon will come first so ill have all my King Salmon lures that I use on the Kenai River together and all my King Salmon lures that I use on the Kasilof River together. Next I will pull out all the Rods and when I say all I mean a bunch of rods, King Salmon rods for the Kenai River, King Salmon rods for the Kasilof River, Silver Salmon rods for the Kenai River and Silver Salmon rods for the Kasilof River to include spinning rods, Bait casting rods, bobber rods. Then we have Several different sets of Trophy Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden and Arctic Char and Lake Trout rods, both spinning and bait casting. Next we have sets of fly rods for both Sockeye Salmon and Trophy Rainbow Trout. So when i say a bunch of rods I’m not joking around. Anyway all those Kenai River and Kasilof River Rods will be meticulously cleaned both the rods and the reels, then new line added where needed. Yes it is a big job every year getting  ready for another fishing season on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River. Oh and lets not forget the boats I have a 20ft Willie Predator power boat and a 20ft Willie Predator drift boat the drift boat mainly gets fished on the Kasilof River and the power boat mainly gets fished on the Kenai River. Anyway both boats will be cleaned to a high standard and the outboard motors will be cleaned and serviced also. So 2019 fishing season here on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River is just around the corner and for me your friendly  Kenai and Kasilof river fishing guide here in Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula it is time to get to work!
