Well fishing season is fast approaching us here in Alaska on the Kenai and it won’t be long before I’m out on the Kenai River or the Kasilof River chasing King Salmon around. Yes I love fishing for King Salmon and like fishing for Sockeye Salmon and enjoy Trophy Rainbow Trout fishing very much. However if I had to just one time of year and one species of fish target on the Kenai River or the Kasilof River well I would have to choose the fall and I would have to choose Silver Salmon. There is just something magical about Silver Salmon fishing and I just can’t get enough. Sure King Salmon are bigger and yes the Sockeye come in larger numbers, but there is just something very special about fishing for Silver Salmon on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River. Why do pick Silver Salmon fishing as my favorite well it is many things, first the fish are just beautiful probably the prettiest of all the Salmon, next they are very acrobatic and pound for pound fight very very well, just so much fun. Also in the fall on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River things start to quiet down and the Silver fishery is just more relaxed and more aesthetic than the hustle and bustle of King Salmon season. Typically the fall colors will be out and the scenery on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River is just wonderful. Also Silver Salmon come in good numbers and most of the time the fishing is quiet good with many limit catches, unlike the big King Salmon which are always very hard to catch. Okay well these are just some of the reasons I love Silver Salmon fishing season here in Alaska on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River, we still have some very good dates open to fish with us for Silver Salmon so call now to reserve your spot.
