Well I’m very happy to report that the 2019 fishing season has begun and I have my first trip of the season in the books. On Friday April 26th I took two fisherman\ to Hidden Lake on the Kenai National Wildlife3 Refuge on a Lake Trout adventure. I am happy to report that  both the weather and the fishing were very good and we enjoyed steady action all evening long on beautiful Lake Trout.

The Kenai River is looking very good and I plan on doing my first Kenai River trip this week, general the Kenai is still a little dirty this time of year but as of now the Kenai is looking green and beautiful and actually has good water volume for this time of year. My guess is that with the early spring we have had this year on the Kenai that we will see an earlier run of King Salmon in to the Kenai River and probably the Kasilof River.

Also I am hearing good reports of the Saltwater fisheries in Anchor point and Ninilchik for King Salmon and Halibut so it won’t be long before this King Salmon are entering the Kenai River and the Kasilof River. So that is the fishing report folks here on the Kenai the Lake fishing is great, the Saltwater is good and the River fishing should start to produce King Salmon any time.
