Hi everyone greetings from Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula, Well it is late march and spring is in the air here on the Kenai and before long we will be out on the Kenai River and the Kasilof River chasing King Salmon once again. The ice is melting and before long the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers will be flowing free of ice, as well as our local lakes will be breaking up and ice free. After a long dark winter it is so nice to see the days getting longer, and the sunshine and warmer temps. There is still time to reserve some great dates for fishing this summer on the Kenai River and the Kaslof River so give me a call and let’s get you in the book . I want to just once again go over Salmon run timing with you. Okay so King Salmon is May, June, and July, Sockeye Salmon is late June, Late July and early August, Silver Salmon is August, September, and October Pink Salmon is August and Trophy Rainbow Trout opens June 16 and can be caught all the way till late October with the peak fishing being in September usually.
If you did not get to put some fresh Salmon in your freezer last summer I feel sorry for you it is so good. I am getting down to my last few packs and before long I will be looking to put some fresh fresh fillets in the freezer. We are so blessed here in Alaska to have such a wonderful resource as fresh Salmon readily available. Fresh Alaska Salmon is so good and good for you and can be cooked so many different ways. Don’t get me wrong we also enjoy catch and release and encourage catch and release for the big Kenai River King Salmon, but for other Salmon species that are more abundant it is wonderful to keep some fresh Salmon for the diner table.
Okay well that is all i have got today hope to see you in Alaska this summer for some Salmon and Trout fishing here on the Kenai River and Kasilof River, call now get your dates!
