Hello Alaska Anglers! Well it is mid april here on the Kenai in Alaska and the 2025 fishing season is almost upon us! It will not be long before the salt water fishery in cook Inlet and Kachemak bay for Salmon and Halibut will be be firing up here in Alaska and soon after that King Salmon and Sockeye Salmon will start heading towards the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. However in the meantime one of my favorite trips of the year is fixing to happen and that is fishing for Lake Trout on the Kenai national wildlife refuge! We had a very warm winter here on the Kenai Peninsula and it is looking like the majority of local lakes are going to be ice free any day, and im pretty sure my favorite lake to fish for Lake Trout is open right now so excitement is running high. I will be uncovering my boat and getting her ready to fish this week. and the first warm and sunny day we get I will be on the water kicking off my 2025 fishing season! 2025 will be my 39th consecutive year as a fishing guide here in Alaska on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers as well as other local waters. If you have never done a fishing trip on the refuge for Lake Trout i highly recommend it always a fun a beautiful trip and a great way to start of the fishing season here in Alaska.
