Hello Kenai River Anglers, Well it is officially summer here on the Kenai in Alaska and the 2025 Alaska fishing season has begun! I love spring time in Alaska and there are a lot of great opportunities to get out and enjoy some fishing on Alaskas spectacular Kenai peninsula. First of all the Lake Trout fishing up on the Kenai national wildlife refuge has been great and should be good for most of June. Next on the list is King Salmon fishing on the Kasilof River this fishery should be getting better every day and will peak in mid June. And one of my favorite trips of the year will be starting soon and that is the Rainbow Trout opener on the Kenai River which will start in just a couple weeks always a fun trip! Also it won’t be long before we start to get good numbers of early run Sockeye showing up on the Kasilof River and the Kenai River, I can’t wait to fresh Sockeye on the grill. And of course we do not want to forget the salt water fisheries both in Cook inlet and Kachemak bay for Halibut and other species which are in full swing right now. So lots of of wonderful Angling opportunities to bad had right now on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula.
