Hi every one well another King Salmon season has came and went here on the Kenai. Both the Kenai River and the Kasilof River will close to King Salmon fishing tonight at midnight. I am happy to report that the King Salmon season was a huge success this year on both the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers, for both the first and second runs of King Salmon. Other than a few days when we had dirty water conditions we had very consistent fishing for the entire season this year. Sockeye numbers this year were not as strong as the last few years on the Kenai River but even so we still had several weeks of very good fishing and no problem getting limits of Sockeye Salmon. Starting on Tuesday we will begin to target Silver Salmon here on the Kenai and expectations are very high for a great run, we have already been seeing a few in the river and have been hearing good reports from the salt water fisheries also. I love Silver Salmon season and can’t wait to get started fishing for them. Also Trophy Rainbow Trout Charters will be starting this week and judging by what I have been seeing on the lower Kenai the Trout fishing should be fantastic. Well that is the report folks things are looking great here on Alaska’sKenai and Kasilof Rivers.
