Hello Anglers, well the 2023 fishing season is finally here in Alaska on the Kenai. So here is a quick update on all things fishing on the Kenai Peninsula. The Kasilof River opened to fishing with bait for King Salmon with a limit of 2 hatchery Kings per person the Reports have been slow but that should start to pick up any day. On the Kenai River King Salmon will remain closed however we should start seeing some first run Sockeyes showing up in the next few weeks, and of course we cant wait for the Rainbow trout opener on June 16th. Next in my opinion the most fun to be had fishing here on the Kenai Peninsula in May and June is is to take advantage of the incredible beauty and great fishing on one of our amazing Lakes we have here on the Kenai national wildlife refuge, If you are looking for the true Alaska experience I highly recommend a day of fishing for Lake Trout or Rainbow Trout and Arctic Char on one of our wonderful lakes. And if you want to head a bit further south the Saltwater Halibut fishing is starting to heat up in Ninilchik and Homer. So that is the report summer is here and fishing is the mission here on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska so give me a call and lets go fishing.
