Hello Kenai River anglers. Well 2024 is coming to a close here on the Kenai and I wanted to reach out wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Also I want to thank all of my past and present clients here at Jim Rusk Fishing, 2024 was my 38th season as a fishing guide here in Alaska on the Kenai River and I’m grateful to all of you and hope that that I can continue to serve as your fishing guide and friend here in  Alaska on the Kenai River. People always ask how many more years I will be guiding on the Kenai, that is a hard question but all I can say is at least for now I just can not imagine being anywhere else other than the Kenai river in the summer here in Alaska. So Lord willing 2025 will be my 39th consecutive season guiding anglers here in Alaska on the Kenai River and other local waters. We are currently taking bookings for 2025 alaska fishing season, so if you are planing a fishing trip to Alaska this summer and you want to have your pick of the best dates now is the time to book. With poor King Salmon returns on the Kenai we will again mainly be targeting Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon and Trophy Trout, however we will still be offering a few King Salmon trips in the spring on the Kasilof River. Hope that everyone got to harvest some wonderful Alaska Salmon for your freezers this summer, I know I did! I love having salmon in the freezer and enjoy eating all the time, it is so good and can be prepared so many different ways.
