Hello Kenai River anglers, well it is almost mid March here on the Kenai and the 2023 fishing season is going to be here very soon. If you are planning an Alaska fishing trip in 2023 to fish the Kenai River or the Kasilof River and you have not booked your dates yet I strongly advise that you get your fishing and lodging booked soon as the best dates will be filling up before long. So as you may or may not have heard the Kenai River King Salmon season has been closed for the entire summer due to concerns over poor returns the last few years. So if you are wanting to do a King Salmon trip in 2023 your best option will to plan a Kasilof River King Salmon trip and the window of opportunity will be the last two weeks of May and the first two weeks in June after that will will be shifting our focus from King Salmon to Sockeye Salmon or Trophy Trout trips until the Silver Salmon show up in August. Because of the Kenai River King Salmon closure I anticipate that the Kasilof River King Salmon dates are going to fill up fast so do not wait if you want a King Salmon trip get your dates booked now. Otherwise come later in the season and just plan on a super fun Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon or Rainbow Trout trip. Well on a different note 2023 will be my 36th fishing season guiding anglers here in Alaska on the Kenai River the Kasilof River and other Kenai Peninsula waters, It is hard to believe that I have been a fishing guide for so many years what  a blessed life! Okay well that is all I have today, give me a call and get your dates booked for another great fishing season here in Alaska on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers.
