Hi everyone well it is almost mid July here on the Kenai so I wanted to give everyone an update on the fishing here on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. As for the King Salmon fishing we had a pretty decent week last week landing King Salmon every day, and on Thursday releasing a very large King Salmon with an estimated weight of 60 to 65 lbs. On the Kasilof River the King Salmon fishing was still slow but improving by the day as we are starting to get to the time when the second run King Salmon are starting to show up in bigger numbers. The Second run King Salmon numbers on the Kenai should start to increase as well, although despite fairly low counts last week the Kenai River King Salmon fishing was decent. Next the Sockeye Salmon fishing on the Kasilof river has been very good with a larger than normal return for that river. As for the Kenai River Sockeye fishing the second run has not shown up in big numbers yet but we should see a big increase in Sockeye Salmon numbers this week. Trophy Rainbow Trout should be improving all the time as our first Run Salmon will be starting to spawn soon and the Trout should start to go on the bite. Well that is the report for the Kenai River and the Kasilof River here in Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. We are still offering some great rates for July fishing trips as the Covid 19 has hurt our season, Please call anytime to reserve your spots!
