Hello Kenai River Anglers, well it is late August here on the Kenai River in Alaska and I am happy to report that it has been a very good August here on the Kenai. We have been targeting Silver Salmon and getting nice limit catches of Silver Salmon most days. Unbelievably the Sockeye Salmon have been still pumping in to the Kenai River and Anglers are still getting good catches of Sockeye Salmon, although finally that fishery is starting to slow down. After a heavy rain event the Kenai river water conditions did get dirty and Silver Salmon fishing got slow on Sunday however the Kenai River looks to be already cleaning back up and i expect the Silver Salmon fishing to be back in shape by Tuesday morning. Fishing on the Kenai River for Silver Salmon should continue to be good for at least another month as long as water conditions remain favorable.
